Across the hall they would have just used some old garden hose a few used hose clamps for that project. Problem solved.

If anybody else here is interested in these pipe up! The sub only fueled on the port side. It was my intention to make it confused as a bi-fueler. The first time I fueled the boat in NOLA, she splooged a gallon of fuel from the vent into my good shoes. That was a treat!

Thank you. Unfortunately, all that beautiful work comes at a high cost in time. It was just supposed to be a couple of pieces of angle, a guillotine clamp and a block of wood. Two drilled holes for the clamp, two for attaching the angles together, and four or five for screwing to the block. It was obvious early that slots were better for attaching the angles and lateral positioning, and having a Bridgeport that was fairly quick and easy. Then the wheels fell off the wagon. It all sounds good in theory. In the pics, you'll see the clamp was originally fitted through two simple holes. Unfortunately, the initial test-fit where we marked the height for the wood block, well, it wasn't quite right after the block was installed. So now what to do? Can't have the hose rubbing against the bottom of the cockpit and we couldn't tilt the elbow enough in the clamp. Even if we could, it would have pitched the vertical hose barb too far. Okay, we'll slot it instead of drilling other holes so we'll have the flexibility to the height right without multiple attempts. Back to the shop. Next weekend, back on the boat we can get the positioning we want, but tightening the nuts walks the clamp and makes the whole thing tilt. Need a backer plate to act as a washer of sorts. Back to the shop. Then when it's time to install the horizontal portion of the hose, well, the end had shrunk back to the point where it didn't fit on the barb anymore. More heating and stretching all over again. Still have to go back to the vendor for two feet of hose to replace the part we f-d up. Since I can usually only get to the boat on weekends this ends up being about a month of back and forth. Granted, I've not been on a major push to expedite because of too many other things going on. But it doesn't help that everything becomes an exercise instead of install-and-move-on.

I really don't see why this gives you so much grief.

Nice job showing those vintage 12-71s Scott. My gassers are geeting ready to pull a trans and the ER is a mess as well. Still using PAINT at about 15% size. The pics here look small but click on them for full size. SCROD will PREVAIL!

Alias Smith has a ton of good content just waiting to burst forth. I will not let this go quietly. Unfortunately, it may need me to be in front of an actual computer instead of fiddling with the phone. But I'll do the best I can.
