I had a rigid power threader we used for gas lines for the incinerators. 2” was the biggest used a hand threader just spun the pipe. Here’s a gas pipe story for ya. Put incinerator in foe a major Philly hospital. We need 14”wc at the burners. I calculated we needed 4” for the run from the regulator regulator is in the boiler room down the hall and around the corner from the incinerator room. Hospital engineer takes care of the pipe run to the incinerator. I show up nice painted labeled 4” gas line runs in the incinerator room. Fire up the burners they lock out on flame failure. Cycle several times I break out my manometer. 14” ok burners fire up drops to 2 flame failure. Check the pressure at the regulator 14” and holding good. I’m like WTH maybe there’s a shutoff in the ceiling that’s partially closed. Popped the ceiling tiles and the 4” reduced to (2) 2” because they couldn’t fit 4” in the space. I go to the hospital engineer and he tells me 2+2=4 right? Yes there are people with engineering degrees that stoopid

Well my 50 foot run of 1/2 pipe yielded an instant light off on the 120K BTU $20 horizontal furnace in the shop. Also got the electric door opener installed and going. Got the kid winterizing the boat tomorrow and then shrinkwrap. Nuttin' but fun honey!

Just an update... Odered a gear from ebay made by Boston Gear. They never even responded, and this sell took the time to answer questions. Came with a 1/2" unfinished bore and a collar for a set screw, plus it was .750" tall and I needed 1/2" Turned out well, and silver soldered in place. Pump had some air in it and once that cleared it wa good to go. Backdoor basement entrance finished. Also got bith Buicks under cover. Lotsa boxes been getting checked off.
