Thought I'd check with the expurts... my port engine, 12v71, won't crank... was running, shut it down, went to restart.. and nothing. The ignition switch powers up, I checked the plunger switch for continuity when depressed, checked the starter circuit fuses... but nothing... no solenoid noises. Parallel solenoid works, shut down solenoid and I swapped out the ignition solenoid in the power box. I want to try directly jump the Delco MT50 from the battery, but not really sure which lugs to jump. The starter solenoid has 2 small lugs, and 2 large lugs. One large lug is grounded to the starter case, and the small lug above it has a black wire from the black negative starter wire. The other large lug has the red positive wire coming from the power box, and the small lug above it has a small red wire coming from the wiring loom. So if I run a hot wire direct from battery to the red big red lug on the starter, where would I need to jump it to test the starter?

PS, i'll post a picture on Sams since I'm not smart enough to pst one here.

Positive battery cable to the white wire, or red painted white, or taped, on the small terminal on the solenoid. Expect sparks.

Thanks, I've a few more things to check, like is there 32v at the big red wire from the power box. I changed out the Guest isolator switch sometime back... but I'm guessing ill find 32v at the starter. I'm by myself for I can't hold the start plunger and check for voltage in the ER Power box.. I'm hoping it's not the starter or starter solenoid, It's only about a year or 2 old and it was a real pain to R&R

Understand. It's probably not the starter if it's been working all along and you're suddenly getting zero response. More likely just a failed switch or relay.
Keep us updated.

Still no joy on my no crank issue. Ignition switch test good, plunger switch good..34v everywhere and at starter. 34v at ignition solenoid in power box... the wiring diagram shows a 3/4 amp fuse after the ignition switch at FC4... wherever that is.. all the 20amp fuses in the power box test good.. where else would I find these little fuses?

PS, it shows the fuse just downstream of terminal block TB3-2

Are there any fuses inside the systems monitor box?

Go buy a remote starter switch you can jump it right on the solenoid

That's on tap for tomorrow. I checked the ignition solenoid in the ER power box, and there is 34v on one side, so I should be able to jump across those lugs to start. The problem is between the start plunger switch, and the ignition solenoid. The schematic shows a small fuse in there, but it's not obvious.. ill start tracing the wire tomorrow.. it says it's after TB-3, but the terminal blocks behind the helm both say PH-1 and PH-2.. problems like this drive me nuts.
