Okay Sky. We are going to land in Sutton's Bay next Saturday afternoon. Looking to rent a car. Do you know if we can get one in Sutton Bay or do we have to go to Traverse City? I will be calling the Chamber of Commerce today to find out but always best to hear from our fellow travelers.
P.S. We will have the car for 4 days. We are doing most of our exploring up there via car. If you are available to meet us half way to no where would love to see you guys. It has been years.

T- minus 99 hours and counting! Have a few more things to do.. Install a battery for the generator and just go over all the through hull stuff one more time. Ppat is maintaining her sanity rather well I might add. We've needed a vacation for quite a while and when we get back can take another week off to recuperate with impunity LOL... ws

Out of this whole thing the worst was trying to book a car. Conferences and something else going on. Finally went to Orbitz (?) and got a car that way. Spent hours looking for a car. And no one is near Sutton's Bay and won't drive to pick us up. I now have Uber downloaded on my phone. Only thing left is to hear from Father Charlie so we have the Priest. SOOOO looking forward to this.

We will be in Frankfort in 1 week. I was in Frankfort on the 28th. Jacobsens is the most expensive place to stay there. Try the Municipal marina.

I think the Municipal was booked so we took Jacobsen's as a last resort. $89.00/night (!!) , BUT, they have a pool etc LOL. Aren't all the Michigan Municipals regulated by the state/DNR? They used to be...
We'll be shoving off at about 0800 Friday and if the lake is flat make the 75 mile run in about 5 hours. Next stop will be Suttons Bay. Why did you anchor out there? Talked to Ol' Father Charlie yesterday and he remembered saying a prayer for pops off the swim platform 30 years ago. He is now in Oscoda, on the Huron side and will call the SB parish and relay the request to over there. Besides renting a car there, the deal should go off without a hitch. Thanks Ppat!!! Gonna do dinner with Hans Van Sumerin in Traverse City. He did the ROV video of the Lauren Castle and has some new footage for us. This guy has been on several deep sea NATGEO shows about "Drain the Oceans" including the Pearl Harbor one, hydro testing the Japanese wooden finned torpedoes.
Don't know where from there... Maybe Petoskey (Little Traverse bay) or just back across and one or two stops up this way. Pat has business in Chicago on the 14th and my sister and tribe is due up here on the 15th. Havent seen her in 30 years either!
Got the new Striker down scan sonar/sounder from Scott up and running; it'll be good to see some bottom other than just the river LOL... ws

YIPPEE!!! Made Frankfort in 5 hours door to door. They put us all the way in next to the hot tub (!) and a live easy going local band here as well. Had the owner come down and get the wifi going. Expensive? Yeah but superior service! Bill & Ppat

Pictures will happen, maybe when we get home. So, Sutton's Bay was our main objective. Made that Saturday afternoon. They put us in dock 69 with a promise of a more inviting dock Sunday. Sunday we go to get the car VIA School bus (public transportation) with no air conditioning in 90 degree weather AND the bus only took us into the city, not the Airport. Ending up paying for Uber to take us the rest of the way. And the Dock Master didn't get us moved. We finally moved on Monday Morning by ourselves.
Tomorrow we pick up the Priest and visit dad's watery gravesite. The Priest will say a prayer and then we will head back to the dock. Fun part of this is figuring out how to get rental back to Traverse and then us back to boat. Ppat will figure it out...ws
