This is the old ferry terminal in Auckland. This harbor is not as large as Sydney but still quite big and the ferry service is just as good. Still, its another big city. I was ready to move on. Attachment DeletedThe next two photos are of Napier. This is a town that was destroyed by an earthquake in the 1920's and was rebuilt with all Art Deco architecture. A smaller, tourist town. These pics are of Rotura. This is an area that is sacred to the native Maori people. It is full of thermal springs, bubbling mud pits, and geysers. The geyser in the photo reaches about 90ft, half of the height of Old Faithful. The last photo was taken in the wood shop on site. It is a training facility to teach the natives about the craftsmanship of their ancestors so they can carry on the traditions. Notice the intricate carving work. They sell this stuff in the gift shop, of course. Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

No boat work last weekend. Had to attend a dealer meeting in Springfield MA so we turned it into a mini vacation and went to Boston for the weekend. Only a couple of pics for now. Springfield is the home of Dr. Seuss so we popped in to the museum. Lots of character sculptures in the garden: Then we hit the historic sights in Boston. Went to the aquarium there and Bunker Hill. Got a boat picture in for good measure: And on the ferry ride back what do we see but my old friend the Firefighter. She's been repainted and I had to recognize her by her lines, but I spotted her no problem. It's good to see she's getting some attention. She was looking kind of rough for a bit there. I'm going to have to find a photo hosting solution soon. Tinypic just announced that they are pulling the plug. So if anybody knows of any hosting solutions besides Photobucket I'd be interested.

Is FIREFIGHTER now in private hands? Pretty stately looking with that anti aircraft (or is that for blasting shitheads off the bridges?) monitor up front LOL.. Since I dont do crack phones, I have a camera and a desktop... I refuse to submit. Since I roll on MS OS's, I download all the days pics into a file. The current file is 2019 JULLY. The jully part is just to help identify the file at a glance and the 2019 part is my attempt at a Julian organization. Haha... Went I want to post a pic here, we are limited to 1 MB or less. My pics are generally around 6-10MB. I right click on the pic and hit "resize" from 100% down to 30%. Then again pic "save as" and move it to the 2019 JULLY file and enter it as z1,z2,z3 etc. so I know they are shrunk. Then its a direct post as "add attachment" here. Beyond that, Im lost... With paint or paint 3D you can also draw stuff on the file and "save as" as well... ws Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

I really only use tinypic for hosting photos for something like displaying them here. I guess I'll just upload them directly to the site. But I have a feeling I'm going to run out of storage here. The project Avenger thread is going to take quite a hit.
Oh, and yes. Firefighter is now a museum ship or if you want to call it a privately held attraction. Apparently they do cruises across the sound. Because she's based in Greenport and we saw her in New London.
