If that's what happened then it's a justifiable shoot. But in order to believe that's what happened then you have to believe that 1 minute after the 911 call ended the roles reversed. The kid became the aggressor and Zimmerman is now being pursued. What we know for sure is that Zimmerman was following him we know that from the 911 call. What is there to support the change of events Zimmerman's word is not enough.
Of course if it's all about being black and wearing a sweat shirt and if that's enough to form an opinion then facts and logic or thinking of any kind is completely useless.
It's not that I don't get it because I've lived it. For me it's to what degree do you take it. I'm not at the point where I'm going to dismiss everything I know happened and form an opinion based solely on prejudice. That's what the race whores do I don't want to join them.

Ive been saying from the beginning that if it were a blatant unjustified shooting there would have been an arrest. Also that no one knows until all the sides of the story is told BUT if I were being attacked by him I would have shot him too.

Ive been saying from the beginning that if it were a blatant unjustified shooting there would have been an arrest. Also that no one knows until all the sides of the story is told BUT if I were being attacked by him I would have shot him too. Why because the cops always do the right thing? There needs to be a more thorough investigation. Zimmerman's account doesn't add up. If it is true then the shooting was justified. But again we don't know the facts so it's foolish to blame or exonerate either at this point. If we do we're no better than the Al Sharptons out there. I'm clearly with Brian on this one.

What is there to support the change of events Zimmerman's word is not enough. Brian How about the 5th, 6th, or 14th Amendment creating a "presumption of innocence"?? If the race's of the 2 persons in question were to have been reversed, it would still be what it is, except sharpton would not be wearing a suit today. Kiwi

Living here (Sanford is 20 minutes away) you hear more on the news than the national coverage. It's not new that he claimed to be in fear of his life from him before he shot him and how the race card is being played again even if the facts don't add up. I will shoot a white guy as fast or faster than a black guy because of that.
Simply put if you look like a hood, Act like a hood and approach me like you want to hurt me I will react with superior firepower. No reason for me to live in fear of the BS these kids pull every day.

SANFORD, Fla. (AP) — A slain Florida teenager and the neighborhood watch captain who shot and killed him exchanged words before the teen punched him in the nose and began banging the man's head on the ground, according to the watch captain's account of the confrontation that led to the shooting. The Orlando Sentinel reported that George Zimmerman told police he lost 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in the neighborhood he regularly patrolled and was walking back to his vehicle last month when the youth approached him from behind. The two exchanged words, Zimmerman said, and Martin then punched him, jumped on top of him and began banging his head on a sidewalk. Zimmerman said he began crying for help; Martin's family thinks it was their son who was crying out. Witness accounts differ and 911 tapes in which the voices are heard are not clear. A statement from Sanford police said the newspaper story was "consistent" with evidence turned over to prosecutors. Al Sharpton doesn't care what the evidence says just like with tawanna. The kid was the aggressor and attacked the neighborhood watch volunteer. He should have been shot and killed. Considering his juvie record and the school suspensions this was a future felon in training and there was no reason to arrest Zimmerman. What Juvie Record?? School suspensions?? RU kidding? Gold teath Sweat shirts you've decided based soley on race and apearance so how can you bitch about Sharpton when your doing the same thing?? Brian

BTW, I did read this morning that the first police report stated that zimmermen had a bloodied face, when the cops first pulled up. Kiwi There is a witness to the kid beating on Zimmerman. As far as I know there is no witness to who laid hands on who first. For me that's very important. If Zimmerman tried to hold or restrain the kid then that gives the kid the right to strike back. It doesn't give the kid the right to beat Zimmerman to death only to the point of neutralizing the threat. Zimmerman had a bloody nose and a cut on the back of his head he refused medical treatment. So for me it all comes down to who struck first. If no one knew who either of these people are logic would indicate Zimmerman struck first because we know he was the original aggressor. Brian

And if the kid approached Zimmerman from behind and attacked him as a witness said?
According to the latest local news he disappeared then came around and got behind him and attacked. That makes it Just, Legal and prevents the kid from perfecting his criminal skills.

A statement from Sanford police said the newspaper story was "consistent" with evidence turned over to prosecutors.
Because Martin was black and Zimmerman has a white father and Hispanic mother, the case has become a racial flashpoint that has civil rights leaders and others leading a series of protests in Sanford and around the country. Zimmerman said he shot Martin in self-defense and has not been arrested.
Meanwhile, Martin's parents are blaming police for leaking information about their son being suspended for marijuana and details about the fight he had with Zimmerman that portrayed the teen as the aggressor.
Martin's mother, Sybrina Fulton, and family attorneys said Monday that it was part of an effort to demonize her son.
"They killed my son and now they're trying to kill his reputation," Fulton told reporters.
Martin was suspended by Miami-Dade County schools because traces of marijuana were found in a plastic baggie in his book bag, family spokesman Ryan Julison said. Martin was serving the suspension when he was shot Feb. 26.
The Sanford Police Department insisted there was no authorized release of the new information but acknowledged there may have been a leak. City Manager Norton Bonaparte Jr. said it would be investigated and the person responsible could be fired.
Martin family attorney Benjamin Crump said the link between the youth and marijuana should have no bearing on the probe into his shooting death. State and federal agencies are investigating, with a grand jury set to convene April 10.
"If he and his friends experimented with marijuana, that is completely irrelevant," Crump said. "What does it have to do with killing their son?"
