If things would of stayed the way they were, we would be paying $600 a month RENT for a house, spent every dime on the boats and never gotten out of Dodge.
Our mortage payment is $422 a month and we hope to soon be able to start putting money away. Willy still has IL plates on his truck. My plates and insurance were both expiring when we moved so we opted to just get everything done here on my car.
We are now looking for a standard size gas stove for the kitchen. When we find it we will be doing some remodeling. We both hate the apartment size electric stove that is in the kitchen. I am trying to find one on Craigs list rather than spend to buy new.Thank God we brought my refrigerator with. The little apt. size POS here doesnt hold enough to last 3 days. Plus if you fill it up (freezer) it wont freeze. So, we put the big one in the laundry room downstairs and use the little one for daily stuff. It all takes time and we are working to get things the way we want them. The new storm doors are great and we love them and our fire pit!! ppat

capt.kenny, what about arranging something with the place that only sells diesel. maybe they have a portable tank that they could have full when you get there. of course you would have to make arrangements, and probably pre pay for the gas. i'm sure they can work something out if they want your business. bigbill p.s. if i ran a place like that i would make it work

Question for you Kenny, or anyone else that can answer. If we went to somewhere warmer in the winter and WI in the summer, do we claim to be WI residents all year? What about how to pay taxes (property) and bills during the winter months? ppat

Update - still looking at a 2013 shove off, or if things continue to deteriorate with the POTUS, we may accelerate to 2012. Would need to do a few things to the boat before we leave if that is the case. #1 on the list at this point - what is the best davit system to get for easy dingy access? Dream solution is a TNT hydraulic swim platform, but if that doesn't happen, maybe a Freedom platform, or a tip up davit system. Also - still trying to place the life raft in a good place. Thinking to move it from the flybridge (where its always in the way) to the roof of the dinette. Anyone have a good idea for a 53MY (classic) to place the dingy and life raft?

What is the upper limit on great loop size? Will a SF without a tower work?

I believe it's under 20 or 21 foot depending on the water levels. Randy should know since he just ran through the "Shitcargo ship and sanitary napkin dispenser" last week. I think thats the lowest bridge if I remember right.

The Lemont bridge is a fixed bridge at 19 or 20 feet, depending on water level. When Randy passed it he was almost able to touch it from the flybridge. ppat

That bridge shows, fixed and 19'. If your close, you could fill up with water, fuel, and flood the bilges.
