HE SAYS POTATO, SHE SAYS PO-TAH-TO: When a sheriff's deputy pulled over a driver in Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., for a tail light violation, she said she didn't have her driver's license with her. He asked her name. Coronica Jackson, she said. Um, can you spell that? the deputy asked. C-o-r-i-c-a, she attempted. Then she tried C-o-r-n-a-i-c-a. A passenger then spelled it C-o-r-o-n-i-c-a. The deputy "detected deception," he wrote in his report, and pulled up Jackson's driver's license on his patrol car computer. The photo on it didn't match his driver, so he arrested her. She was charged with driving with a suspended license and giving a false name. Her real name wasn't reported. (Northwest Florida Daily News) ...She's still trying to spell it.

FEELING SECURE YET? Australian federal officials are reviewing security at the Dubbo airport in New South Wales after a traveler spotted a note on a security gate. It read: "Gate Access Code" and gave the code to get through the gate into secure areas. Megan Dixon of the Dubbo City Council said the code was posted for "itinerant airport workers who have security clearance to use this gate," adding "We had a security audit last year, which we passed." (Sydney Telegraph) ...That was then, this is now.

BAD TRIP: Police in the university town of Arcata, Calif., are warning residents that an especially potent batch of LSD is in circulation, leading to a rash of calls to help people who are acting crazy. The first such call came when medics from Arcata-Mad River Ambulance called for officers to assist with a patient who had castrated himself, and medics couldn't find the severed parts. When officers couldn't find them either, the 31-year-old patient explained why: he had flushed them down the toilet because they contained "monsters." (Eureka Times-Standard) ...It would be interesting to hear him defend how cool street drugs are once he comes down from that trip.

Two Air Force Airmen were driving across country on leave. They come to a Marine Corps Base and decide to visit.
They approach the gate and the Marine Guard walks up to the driver's window, and taps on it with his nightstick. The driver rolls down the window, and the Marine smacks him on the head with the stick.
The driver says, "Why'd you do that?"
The Marine says, "You're on a United States Marine Corps Base, son. When I come up to your car, you'll have your ID card ready."
Driver says, "I'm sorry, We're in the Air Force, and we didn't know."
The Marine examines the I.D. Card and gives it back to the driver.
The Marine walks around to the passenger side and taps on the window. The passenger rolls his window down and having learned from the driver hands him his ID ... and the Marine smacks him too with the nightstick.
The passenger says, "What'd you do that for, I had my ID ready?"
The Marine says, "Just making your wishes come true."
The passenger says, "Huh, what's that?"
The Marine says, "I know that as soon as you pull away you're gonna say, 'I wish that Jarhead would've tried that shit with me'!"

LUCKY NUMBER: Mobitel, a mobile phone operator in Bulgaria, has reserved a mobile phone number -- all 8s -- after everyone that has been assigned the number has died. The first person assigned the number, the CEO of the company, died from cancer. Then a "mafia boss" got it, and was shot to death. Then a "crooked businessman" who was shot, then a drug dealer who was killed. "We have no comment to make," said a Mobitel spokesman. "We won't discuss individual numbers." (London Telegraph) ...They do, however, reserve the right to issue the number to troublesome customers.
