It's not what he was doing before being confronted it's how he acted when confronted. Knowing a few cops I know the good outnumber the bad. A power tripping poorly trained cop is still a cop. While I value my rights I would not place myself in danger demanding them in the heat of the moment. Just like I don't argue with the cop giving me a bullshit ticket. I beat him at traffic court. No one involved seemed to be without some blame.

I did say politely. There's no percentage in pissing them off in any way shape or form.

And those fire a what? I'd bet the muzzle blast alone would frighten your opponent to death.
How about a Barrett .50 BMG pistol? I'm sure somebody would make one just to make it.

While I value my rights I would not place myself in danger demanding them in the heat of the moment. Just like I don't argue with the cop giving me a bullshit ticket. I beat him at traffic court. No one involved seemed to be without some blame. All he did when confronted was argue with the cops. He wasn't suspected of a violent or serious crime and he didn't make any threatning moves and there were six cops to deal with a fat out of shape guy selling un taxed cigs. If one of those cops had just a little more brains than ego the whole thing could have been avoided. That guy was thrown to the gound for only one reason because he wasn't showing those cops the respect they feel they were entitled to and they got pissed off. A badge and a gun does not comand respect it comands obedience. The way a cop deals with people is the only thing that can earn respect and there is nothing about this situation that does that. I don't know if that job apeals to assholes or turns people into assholes or both. What I do know is that the majority of cops are power drunk little assholes that should never have been given that kind of power. Brian

Brian is on the mark! At least 60% of the LEO's around here are thugs. It is cuff and stuff and say one word and get tased not " to protect and serve" When there is an accident they just sit in the car instead of directing traffic. They just block the whole road. When they pull someone over they block the lane instead of pulling into a parking lot. It also takes three cops to write a ticket. 1 writes the other 2 stand there like dirty harry.
I was having lunch on the beach and they had a guy cuffed. He was standing at the bus stop in the sun talking to the cops. His groceries were being destroyed in the July sun. over a half hour six different of our finest showed up to join the party. Of course three of them put the lights and siren on so they could stop traffic instead of waiting for the light.

And cops will lie. I have a "spirited" 21 year old son. The cops were targeting a popular college bar. My son and GF left the bar and were pulled over for DUI. Son refused blood test (no more breath test in Tenn), and was roughed, cuffed, and stuffed. The 12 hours he spent cell'd with a guy with a face tattoo was the best thing ever for him... but thanks to excellent representation, he beat the charges. Seems the cop wrote an arrest report that made my son out to be Charles Manson at a demolition derby, so drunk he was incoherent.Problem was, the dash cam video, and radio traffic showed the arresting officer was embellishing.... to be polite... DA said well, ok, he's not drunk and his driving was OK, but officer thought he was on drugs... If he can give a clean drug screen today, we'll drop charges. So he had a drug screen, which came back clean, charges dropped! But there is still a lying cop out there!

Ps, the Thunder 5 was made about 60 miles from the house, in Piney Flats. They went out of business in the 90's. Of course The Thunder 5 was the original "Judge" pistol, and I guess the inspiration behind the Circuit Judge rifle.

My cousins best friend Randy was one of the Mil Spec guys he designed the T5. I bought the two I have from him in the 90's. I understand this was a "company" operation. Randy died a few years later while "on vacation" in Central America.
