Dems manipulating the gas prices before election time? Happy days are here again? I hope you don't really believe that. That's about as accurate as blaming bush for the record high fuel prices we had when he was in office. There's not much our gov can do to control oil/gas prices anymore. Bush tried to get OPEC to increase production and lower prices but discovered ghat the U.S. doesn't have the leverage it used to have now that China and India have become major consumers of oil.

a quote from internet, not verified, fact checked, etc. Prices been way higher under obamna:
"This article is using bogus and misleading figures and comparisons. The average annual price for gasoline has been: 2001 - $1.43; 2002 - $1.34; 2003 - $1.56; 2004 - $1.85; 2005 - $2.27; 2006 - $2.58; 2007 - $2.81; 2008 - $3.25; 2009 - $2,35; 2010 - $2.78; 2011 - $3.53; 2012 - $3.61; and 2013 - $3.49. The last three years have had the highest annual average prices in history. The hateful muslim traitor years have had higher gas prices"

Higher gas prices I've ever seen was around the end of the Bush years when gas was well over $4 per gallon. We hit .4.50 at the pump and over $5 for diesel on the water. Those prices were at or over $4 for most of the year and oil hit $147 a barrel. Bush wasn't to blame just as hateful muslim traitor isn't the cause of oil prices declining. The biggest factor I've seen that changed fuel cost was Katrina. I was going to fuel up at 1.75 the week before Katrina. After the storm we were just shy of $3 just one week later. Once it was discovered that our consumption wouldn't change much the days of cheap fuel were gone forever. There is no reason why we should be paying as much as we are for fuel. Oil prices are still artificially inflated and fuel prices should be lower given the current oil prices. Bottom line is oil companies are in business to make money and there is no reason for them to sell fuel for less money. Add in the inflated cost of oil due to speculation and we all pay more for fuel. Blaming or crediting an administration for fuel prices is ridiculous unless there have been specific policies geared at adding cost to fuel or limiting supply

The Saudis are increasing output in an attempt to drive prices down. They're feeling the pinch from less US consumption of Mideast oil due to increase in US and Canadian oil production. The thinking is the US oil companies will decrease production and buy more foreign oil if the price falls to where it's not as profitable. I'm guessing we have a long way to go before that happens. Sure would be nice to see $2 gas again. We're at or under $2.50 here at a few places and under $3 for diesel on the water.

Dems manipulating the gas prices before election time? Didn't work. If that theory is correct they're still trying. Paid $2.47 for the car and diesel for the boat is $2.86 for 100 gls or more. Fuel is about the only thing cheaper here in NJ.
