I'm pretty sure I have the longest boat search of anybody ever for a Hatteras. Good thing I took long, because needs changed over time, life changed, etc, etc. Yesterday we both said to each other and ourselves...."WTF have we just done, oh my!?!?!" lol.
Anyway, now I have 3months on a big 600foot boat, but it should be fun and amusing in it's own way. Once I'm back in August the real fun begins!

When I sold my "first" Sanctuary, a 33 Cruisers, Inc. express (which I bought from Gaito - that's how we met) in anticipation of buying a 58' Hatteras, the day she left the lake, we both went back to my empty slip in his rubber boat and just sat there in silence. We were both thinking, "what just happened? She's gone." I had put her up for sale when I had an accepted contract on a 58MY. While the express was in the active process of being surveyed and sold, we rejected the 58MY following survey. Hence, I was actually boat-less with no prospect on the horizon. That's why we just sat there in silence. It wasn't supposed to have worked out like that, but I had to let her go when I had a buyer. Everyone who ever bought that Cruisers express said "sold" when they opened the door and walked in, including me, and she was always sold to the first looker. I kind of wish I had that little boat back just to run around in, but keeping my big Sanctuary, too.

Hey ya'll, remember this thread? Fuck, I feel old now. But I still have the boat, and will forever. The 41 hatteras hull is one of the best ever made....can't beat the efficiency.

The way this forum's software works, if a thread hasn't been bumped in a while, when it is bumped it shows the first post as new.
So you post, I click on new, and I'm directed to the first post. That looks way familiar.... so I check the date...
A decade ago....
Welcome to seniority, you old fart.
Just to temper this, I love your appreciation of the things that came before. We stand on the shoulders of giants, and I'm glad that you and my kid appreciate the things that got us where we are.
You both give me hope for the future.

What really funny, COVID scam made boat prices higher today (many years later) than they are in this thread! Of course, the prices are finally coming back down. But holy cow boats got stupid high.
As for hope for the future....who knows. I think the strong will survive and thrive. Don't be average, dumb, and/or weak.
