Had to replace/repair input flange on fiberglass muffler. These guys were absolutely fantastic to work with. Even hand delivered my resin at agreeable location. FWIW.
Bert Browning Centek Industries, Inc. Manager, Product Design & Engineering Mechanical Engineer Email: browning@centekindustries.com
Procedure I followed:
1) cut out old flange 2) grind around outside and inside of muffler a few inches 3) insert new fiberglass tube several inches inside muffler (via Centek) 4) glass, with Centek supplied fire retardant resin, flange onto muffler with multiple layers of biaxial cloth 5) insert SS crush ring into end of new flange and fill gap with 5200 as per Centek. 5) replace black rubber hose with Shields silicone blue hose.

I guess I wasn't clear enuf, sorry.
PROBLEM: I've been chasing a leak for 5 damn years. Changed all my muffler t-bolt clamps but could never find the exhaust leak. Finally while sea trialing this spring we popped a cover underneath a big fish box and watched fwd strbd muffler while underway. Input flange on fwd strbd muffler was leaking bad. Found cracked/crushed flange/input tube to muffler.
So we used the above procedure to repair/replace the input tube on the muffler. So far so good, no leak. Hope this clears it up...

Was this that leak that looked like it was coming from the front of the boat?
