Got an ice maker with the sub that was wet. I never hooked up water to it, but it made cold air when plugged in. This is a 25lb/day unit. Its offered here to my real pals and the HOF to the scheistkopfs as well. Offers or trades considered (you know what its worth dontcha?) in CHICAGO. PM me if anyone is interested before it goes to ebay! ws notice the stripe!

Not to kill any sale Bill...But not all U-Lines like that fit in the same hole...
They come in two sizes... Models 48 & 98 are larger with the 25# bucket...Models 45 & 95 are smaller and have I believe a 12.5 pound bucket....Otherwise they are pretty much identical in looks.
Obviously the larger models won't fit in the smaller hole for the 45 or 95...So folks...Check your hole (or model)...I believe the one Bill is offering is a older model 48 (newer would be a 98)
I think from recent pictures Bill...You bought a model 45...I noticed it dosen't fill the hole in your beautifully finished bar.
Price is Great at $75...If it does not need a thermostat (which tells it when to go into a harvest cycle) as they are no longer available for the older models 45 & 48 from U-Line, and I have not been able to find another source.
Yes they all make cloudy cubes...It's a mineral thing that with commercial ice makers that run (and use) lots of water...The waterfall effect of their operation filters out. Like your fridge at home...A U-Line uses very little water & does not require a drain like the big boys do.

The one for sale is the larger unit. Bill replaced it with the smaller unit that is now in the bar and it works great!!! Bill states that he found receipts on the boat from the previous owner. He had put close to $1000 into this unit before the boat sunk. It is missing the grill on the bottom. ppat

U-Line's Do Work Great ! Much better than the larger Scotsman icemakers (That came on many Hatteras's) Yes the Scotsmans made clear cubes, but did not refrigerate the ice bin, and also the whole time they were in the harvest cycle, they would fill with water to the point of overflowing the sump into the bin thus helping melt the freshly made ice. Most of the first made ice melts chilling the bin enough so that it does not melt fast...Combine this with the harvest overflow water, causes the requirement for a drain... The Scotsman also takes up to 4 days to fill the bin, and in the process it can put a big dent in your fresh water tank's reserve...Most of it going to waste down the drain... For those that want a unit to fit in the Scotsman hole that does not make clear ice, but also does not waste water, and can double as a freezer...U-Line makes the model BI-15...Same internals as the others but with an even larger bucket. Again...Bill & Ppat's machine is a great deal...I was just providing info so that others might understand the differences with no surprises...75 bucks is a steal...as new machines will be around grand or more when all is said & done....Ice is not cheap. Personally...The portable machine mentioned across the hall...To me would be a PITA...filling it manually to keep up with demand, and/or bumping into it with my toes or shin in the dark... I guess if you want to go camping...Go Camping But you can fill it with bottled distilled, or boiled water from the campfire pot all night long to have clear cubes ;D Steve~

Steve~ Spcoolin, Thanks for the informative as usual, post. This little gem will be going in a custom hole on the Roamer. The cloudy ice Joke was a shot at the HOF thread, as I cannot think of a single reason why any one would care if the cubes were clear or cloudy..haha. Kiwi

Kiwi [/quote] I knew it was a joke Kiwi but...You'd be surprised how many folks I run into that want that clear ice for straight Scotch or otherwise... I've got parts ready to go into a Scotsman on a 109' Burger tomorrow. It really (the clear ice) does taste better, but the cloudy cubes don't seem to affect my Beer, Vodka, or Rum...and after a few...As long as it's cold...Who gives a shit anyway Steve~
