How do you keep those chrome valve covers looking so good? Mine are flaking as are most that I have seen on other Detroits.

How do you keep those chrome valve covers looking so good? Mine are flaking as are most that I have seen on other Detroits. Actually they are painted silver. The new engine I bought was painted factory silver, I left the valve covers that way.

Now I don't feel so bad. That's what my mechanic did with mine when he rebuilt the engine. Chrome wouldn't stay on.
