With a crowbar LOL? A cuban pal of mine in Chicago inherited his dads gigantic Cuban candy fortune. They left Cuba just before Fidel stepped in and took many $$$ millions out of the country and became citizens here. The kid always wanted to fly an F 104 starfighter. Never flew before, so when his dad died he bought one that was owned by a mideast sand jockey and here for overhaul. He was deposed and the plane sold mid way through the overhaul for 5m, demilitarized. Tony bought it and put another several Ms into it THEN learned how to fly it. As far as I know he still owns it and flies with these guys...https://www.starfighters.net/ Last time we spoke was in 2008 and he still used a brick phone. Dream big, but keep the boat; lifes short.

Must be nice to have money. Especially that kind of money.
I'm keeping the boat. It's doubtful I will ever get serious enough about flying to actually own a plane. I was just thinking it would be nice to learn how to fly one.

Still stuck in the 90s with a flip phone and a PC desktop. I use a 16Mp camera and keep files here. No cloud for me. I still use "paint" for resizing to about 15%. The pics look small here, but click on it and it goes full screen. Just returned to a land line also just to keep achmed at bay...This is my moms friend at a Torpedo boat launching in Sturgeon Bay in 1943. Click on it!

Im surprised R Smith hasnt piped up. Take a ground school class (the book is like a NYC phone book), and a few hours in the air to see even you even like it. I tried with my pal out of Midway in Chicago and air traffic with 707s scared the crap outa me. Maybe on a grass strip up here would be different. Id almost freeze at the point of no return. He'd rent and it was like 150 an hour (meter time) back then. Whats it now?? Ya really need to love it. Runaway moderation. Editing comments into my post and not making your own. For shame. But anyway, I know they have those Be A Pilot cheapie intro rides. For like $100 they'll take you up for a half hour and let you drive for a few minutes, tell you what a natural you are and try to sell you on flight school. Maybe that's the way to give it a sniff. And if I was flying a Cessna around airliners I do believe I might soil myself too.

I think it's the 18, I think the Sweet 16s had the single helm seat and the L-shaped lounge down the port side and across the back. I would take either in a heartbeat. Correct, it's a 1994 18 with the 350 Alpha. Spent its life in Minnesota/Wisconsin on the rivers. Looks like new. You'll have fun with that.

That was a small 4 pax 200 horsepower wing under, built in Canadia out of carbon fiber stuff. Coming in to MDW on 4 right with light commercial traffic. Click on the pic. The pic storage thing for me means I hafta keep the shrunk pics in a sub file which helps with other forums like the HOF etc. We're free here so additional storage costs. When we reach our max, old stuff needs to be deleted. If its good, Ill hit "save as" and haunt people later LOL...

I’m currently flying with a guy that’s an old tomcat driver. He was telling me a story about his scariest experience launching and landing on the carrier at night in heavy seas in the Australian bite. Thank God we have people willing to go through that to provide the freedoms we enjoy each and every day!

I’ll give it a shot tonight. When we built the medical waste plant in Farmingdale I used to fly into Republic every day for almost a year. Weather there was usually WOXF in the am and I hoped it would clear by the time I got over Deer Park VOR. Winter inspired me to buy the twin. I had a single engine Mooney201 route from where I was in Pa sent me on V267 which they called the shark route 15 miles off asbury park nj turned northward east of the Ambrose light tower then back towards Jones beach and Deer Park for the approach. I used to look down at the 35* water with rolling white caps and wonder if I could put it down on a ship if the engine quit. Nothing colder than Li in the winter. Maybe 2 rivers tho
Its always sunny in TR!
