FWIW I went fo my FAA medical today. Was going to get a standard 3rd class but a friend told me about the new Basic med medical. It’s good for 4 years instead of 2 and any licensed doctor can issue it not just aviation medical examiner’s. The only limitation is I can’t fly over FL180 or operate an aircraft over 6000 lbs. I can even renew my flight instructor rating and give flight instruction. I went to an AOPA recommended doc and it all went without hitch. At 6000 lbs and 18,000 feet you dont feel cheated do you? Thats a lot of both. Isnt yours about 2800 lbs? Just curious.

Good to see the crowd is still skulking around.
As far as the FAA, it seems they're becoming a little less uptight. And this light sport thing is looking pretty good.
I've still got a ton of issues on my plate, but I'm wondering if I can actually get in the air in another year or so.

I think it's the 18, I think the Sweet 16s had the single helm seat and the L-shaped lounge down the port side and across the back. I would take either in a heartbeat.

Correct, it's a 1994 18 with the 350 Alpha. Spent its life in Minnesota/Wisconsin on the rivers.

Nice an 18 is on the bucket list. Sometime in the late 60’s Teleflex bought Donzi Teleflex was based in North Wales Pa my dad was friends with John Chisholm who I think was president. Back in the car pool days. Do people do that anymore? His daughter was in our pool. I remember picking her up and there as a Donzi in the driveway. It was way cool there really was nothing like it back in the day. He’d get a new one every couple months and sell the old ones. He’d race them too. We went to see him race a 16 in the miss Atlantic City race. Then a 24 up in NY at the worlds fair marina. I remember there were 2 of those 275 gallon oval shaped fuel oil tanks like everyone had in their basements bolted into the cockpit. I would beg the old man to buy one every time he sold one. The old man was the consummate tire kicker. Cars boats real estate you name it we’d go look at it. In reality I just think he liked screwing with salesman.whenever I wanted something I had to go on a sales pitch program like the kid with the Red Rider BB gun. I think it was the Dale Carnegie in him. Chisholm had a 19’ St Tropez which was one of the few center console Donzi’s there was a 13 also but I’ve never seen one. The St Tropez had a Holman Moody Eaton interceptor package. Chisholm had it at his shore house in Ocean City NJ. Talked the old man into looking at it. It had what I know now is a dog clutch. The gears ground when it went into reverse and that was it. I gave up on my Donzi dream and focused on pitching the 34 Hatteras. We looked at Owens Trojans Pacemakers Zobel sea fox Luhrs Ulrichens Chris Crafts and a bunch of others I can’t even remember. We climbed up and down more rickety ladders in cold boat yards than I can even remember. My mom and I almost passed out when he ordered the 34 brand new. He was famous for canceling orders on stuff at the last minute. We held ou breath right up to the minute they handed him the keys. I think it was growing up in the depression my grandfather was a brakeman on the railroad and he got sick when my father was young,y grandmother ended up scrubbing floors in a barbershop just to get by. He always talked about feeling guilty about her buying him a nickel ice cream cone. Having been through that could never really blame him for being that way. He wasn’t really cheap but wanted to make sure he got the best deal for his money. I look at how people piss money away today especially these kids with nothing to show for it and I think there has to be a day of reckoning sooner or later.

iPad but I can do it from my laptop either. Sky says it works on his iPhone Well, here's from my PC, but it should work about the same from anywhere. We already know you know how to upload pictures, so you should have a page like this of your images: Depending on how organized you are. I have albums to keep them sorted so I can find things. Anyhoo, if you click on the image thumbnail in your ablum you'll get a larger image with links on the right: Click "Copy" on the one that says "BBCode." That will give you the proper bulletin board code with the bracketing. Then just paste that into the typing window here and it will become an image when you post. You can also use preview in the lower left of the typing window and you'll see the image. That line of text with the brackets can be moved around to put the pic in the middle of your paragraphs if you want to. Just be sure to copy everything in the brackets, including the brackets.

Scrod... you really wanna fly? Ill hafta be the boat nazi... No Boats for YOU...! I guess you could always fly out to Manitowoc for a wekend though. I've always been interested in flying. It's in my nature, just not in my budget. When the old man worked for Grumman, after his work on putting men on the moon he was drop testing F-14s for carrier landings. I SOOOO wanted to fly them, but without perfect eyesight it wasn't an option. I ended up in his second profession instead. In a fitting bit of irony, I was working on this museum's emergency generator when they were remodeling. So, I actually got to sit in the driver's seat of a Tomcat. No engines in it tho.
