Finally after 2 years my new dock is going in. New sea wall new dock. I’m putting extra and longer poles in so I don’t have to put extensions on the poles for surge.
Yes Most boats sink when the surge goes down. I had 4x6 extensions on the last poles this time I got all 30’ poles and am leaving them high. We have 8-9’ in the ground depth is 4-5 foot gives me 15’ + or - above the normal waterline. We only get 1-2’ tide change here.
Dock is done but I’m putting the power and water back. They wanted to leave the deck off while I ran the utilities but after taking a year to get the out I wasn’t going to let them leave the job. I ended up working everything under the dock at low tide on a raft. I’m anal about how the conduit runs go in even though no one will ever see them but it will all be done right. Putting in multiple hose stations and also have air run from my big compressor up at the shop. Putting in 2 boat lifts too. Plus the power to them and receptacles on the poles by the lifts. I hate cords running all over. Heat down here has been brutal. Still can’t get Imgur to work to post pics. Brought the boat back but still need to mount the fendoffs on the poles. Final plan is to do a pergola or tiki roof on the main dock but for now I put up a sail shade.
