If anybody's interested what goes on inside an OhNo: Or at least in the injection pump. We tear them apart down to the little bits. Then they go in the industrial dishwasher for a bath: This is looking straight into the pump housing: This is looking down from on top: That brown varnish stuff is not unusual for a pump with time on it. Although this one may have been a bit on the heavy side. But it was pretty funky smelling. Almost exactly not quite like stale fuel, or something with an additive blended in. The O-rings were also rather solid, so that may have contributed to the leak. Sorry I didn't get pics of the clean pieces before it went back together, but sometimes life moves on without me. Once it's all assembled it goes on the test bench for calibration, so we run it like it runs on the engine, and set all the fuel delivery, timing advance (which there was none on this pump because it only runs at one speed) and, well, speed. We used our phashishdicated digital technology on this one: BTW, we found the leak. One of the head locking bolts was compromised and wouldn't seal against the housing. Lousy pic: Now you know some of the ins and outs of a DB2 pump. We'll get it off the bench and ready to ship soon. I'll be in touch when we get to that point.
