just a heads up to check your shackles and safety wires on your anchors. we spent the night at cat island a couple of weeks ago in pretty rough conditions. when i was washing the boat i saw the safety wire hanging loose, checked the shackle and it was 3/4 of a turn loose. i almost lost an anchor and possibly washed up on the island

Use that Bahamian Moor Bill! I remember the first night above Mobile with the HATTRICK, it was windier than heck so I slept in the pilot seat. The canal we were on wasnt any more than 70 feet wide. In the morning, I woke up and we were facing the opposite direction! The pin that held the stock to the blades on the Danforth rusted away and the anchor parted. I pulled the chain up witha 30 lb. bar of steel (the stock) and lost the flukes. We had a stern anchor as well and that held us from washing out into the open river.
Did you set an anchor alarm? Put an annunciator in the stateroom too! ws

i did have an anchor alarmset BUT that would not have mattered, we brought all 4 of our dogs and they took over the bed with my wife so i slept in the v berth, i doubt my wife would have woke up if an alarm went off
