Would ya'll believe Im still dealing with a covid fog, reducing VIZ by about 10%; even at those numbers, theres noticeable improvement almost every day. Now the stupid house deal is done (moving and closings at least), its time to get after the Roamer while its inside!
The main objective is to get the windows on the side of the cabin to quit leaking. The first restoration put a stop to this with a ton of teak and 5200 in 1986; that lasted about 2 years. Its now been back to wet bunks and rotting bulkheads. Damn!
The object now id to pull all the OEM style windows out and replace with a more mounting friendly frame that can be sealed 100% externally. I cant seem to find any type of gasket mounted RV windows that come close to fitting, and custom stuff is like 1500 per unit (X 4!). Cant do that. I found an old derelict where the window size is good sans the length. I need 130 inches along the bottom and these each measure 52". Both ends will fit, and a piece of black glass filler in the center for the gap will be hunky dory. These are aluminum with screens and the whole assembled zone will be painted with satin black for an updated look. This'll include black tint on the glass.
This should go well (Gads I hope!!) and then some wall replacement inside happens. I also had THREE pieces of chrome redone that totaled out at almost $800. Also picked up a floor display RCL100 searchlight for like $300.Chose A,C, and D. A dumb $3K light. Being inside will also allow for a decent roof top paint job finally!
Happy New Years guys!! Bill & Ppat
