I was inline for the billion dollar lottery the other week and girl behind me asked what are you going to do if you win. I said build a bigger shop. Gave me a puzzled look and said oh ok. Good answer. You know whatever you do, no matter how much you have, you can always use a bigger shop.

Looks really good. Do you have enough headroom for a lift in there? Eventually. May need to reconoiter a few trusses and a 4 poster in there so I can double stack the 2 Bujiks/

You run water over? It’s nice to at least have a wash up sink in the shop. My mom used to shake her head when I walked into the kitchen with a jug of go jo and grease up to my elbows after the outside water was turned off for the winter.

Thats the issue here too. At -30F water gets pretty hard. It could be good for the summer though... Right now theres a single hose bibb and thats as far away from anyting else on this place as could be. Kinda looking for a rigid threading machne to repipe this place. The plumbing is a wreck and totally bastardized!

Its 36" by code here too, BUT, being detached by 50 feet means that what comes up will freeze. The shop is not heated 24/7. It can get damn cold inside!

I had an outdoor sink and hose station by the garage. I had a setup to blow it back into the basement if it was going to freeze at night. Just seemed I was always washing stuff. I ran the bike all winter so when it got above 30 I needed to get the salt off it. I had a mad scientist set of ball valves in the basement so I could send hot water if I wanted for washing mostly the bike. I had heat in the bike shed so it would dry before it started to freeze. I rode almost every day up there. There were always errands that needed to be run for the Homestead. I rode 80,000 miles in 10 years and never took any long trips. Now I’m back where the weather is good most every day and I hardly ride at all.
