check for an inertia switch, if she got bumped around before you got her or during the towing process it may have popped the switch. i would also look into the alarm and maybe a hidden kill switch that someone could have installed I believe the switch is usually around the glove box

I like the "DEATHANOL" kick LOL... My 2000 Silverado (non TPI) had a fuel pressure switch AND a regulator on the rail. The switch had to read like 60 psi to trigger a start sequence. Several fuel pumps later, we figgered out it was a Canadian built truck and the system required a 63 psi trigger point. A brand new USA pump would deliver that, but after about 1-2000 miles, wear would cause a drop in pressure and no start. TPS switches (throttle position sensor) cam position and crank triggers are all part of it too. If 3 or 4 mechanical moving parts is good, why not make it better with 50 digital parts made in china relying on ladder logic. ws

My 98 Sub had the Hall effect sensor in the ignition switch was intermittent I believe that like the chipped keys locked out the fuel pump. I had the computer flashed to eliminate it. I think I pasted about it back then on here.

One blessing(?) this thing has is that it's relatively primitive. No VATS, so no chipkey to fail. It's like OBD-0 so a little easier to get through emissions related cr@p and computer control. No airbags, no ABS. "We die like real men" etc. However, the other side is that a lot of the technical stuff is very limited and since it didn't have a long product life it's not always an easy fix or easy parts to get.
Still waiting on the factory manuals. We're having a run of good weather, so I'd like to at least get it to start reliably before it's too miserable to work outdoors. It's still no big priority, but that leads to it falling by the wayside like other projects, and it really needs to be on the road for it's April Fool's Day reveal.

Factory manuals cost more than the car today it’s ridiculous how much they went up. Even used eBay ones are crazy.

I asked the local guy and an '84 gas engine car is exempt. Diesels aren't, mind you. My 1985 pickup truck still has to suffer the indignity of a puff test. But a clapped-out Corvette is a free-for-all. Hard to believe in a state that used to have dynamometers in all inspection stations to run highway speed emissions tests on cars.
