I’ve come to the realization I have more projects than useful life span. I need to hire someone to help finish stuff but every time I do it’s not the way I want it or they f it up. Same problem here. I think I need two lifespans or a clone. What I really need is to retire early so I don't have to keep doing customer work instead of my own work. However, there is that money thing... And even if I could really afford to hire people to do this stuff we have the same problem. Good luck getting it done right. Plus, the Corvette is a good example of something that even if I could, I wouldn't spend the money on it. It's just not worth it and gets upside down in a hurry.

Say it isnt so... 30 years of stuff left to do with 20 years to get it done; If yer lucky! Sounds about right. Maybe 35 years of stuff. The car name is still up for grabs, but I think I'm just going with Kilobuck84 for the screen name. Kilobuck Korvette is too long for the format over there, and Red Roach probably has some Panamanian connotation. There's a reason I don't usually name vehicles. I have a tough enough time naming boats. I know some people like to give things names but it was never a habit of mine. So far the only cars that have gotten names in my family were my mother's '58ish Mercedes 190SL which garnered the moniker "The Peashooter" for unknown-to-me reasons. The other is the ironic, but unimaginative "The Mighty TDI" for the Volkswagen. Something that seems to have occurred naturally though, is for a few of the cars to have mascots. The pickup truck had a lot of Mack Trucks paraphernalia on it because we were doing a lot of work with a Mack dealer, so it accumulated fender posts, decals and such. Most of that has gone by the wayside over the years. Although the mudflaps remain, and I still have a set of floormats somewhere. Thus, it's mascot is a bulldog. It almost ended up with one on the hood. Fortunately, it was spared that wound. Mom's Buick acquired a rubber duck mascot. There were a bunch of them around for a while because of some school thing, and one got left in the car. Now it sits attentively, although occasionally precariously on the floor hump. I may glue a strong magnet to it's tush to help keep it there. There is a certain irony to it because this Buick replaced the one that she allowed to drown during Sandy. So maybe the idea of something that floats as a reminder that cars don't, and mom should have listened to her son for a change. I present... Count Duckula! So, do we select a mascot, or wait for one to suggest itself? Maybe a Grover Cleveland bobblehead. He's on the thousand dollar bill.

Got the fuel pickup/sender out and tank cleaned out. Helluva mess. After a bunch of cleaning: Blew out the fuel lines too. Gonna try to get some clean fuel in next and see if anything works.

Have to admit, gear oil stinks pretty bad. Never smelled it burnt. But old gas can make you hurl. Tough call there.
