Hey guys, ran my boat with 8-92 turbos from Miami to Fort Lauderdale yesterday. During an engine check, the ER had a strong odor of styrene. Like curing (or burning) fiberglass resin. Engine was running well, sounded good. Coolant was steady at 170. Oil pressure where it should be. No smoke or leaking.
Pulled out my IR thermometer. Found something out of whack. The starboard engines inboard fiberglass exhaust tube measured 330 degrees. The SS elbow right after the turbo was only 180. The other engine's FG exhaust tube was running between 110 and 150d. Immediately slowed to 800 RPM and temp dropped to 210 after a few minutes.
So, does this sound like the shower head is clogged, trashed or am I off base?
Figured I'd post here before going over to that other site and wade through a bunch of conflicting reply's.

Short answer, Yes.
I'd pull the exhaust hose and have a look at the spray holes.

And check how much water your pumping overall.
If your pump is bad it won't move enough water.

Only if it's running hard enough to need that water.

Well, I was hoping the impeller was a mess cuz that would be an easy fix. I know the Hx & fuel/tranny cooler are ok as they were just serviced 6 months ago.
That leaves the showerhead.
Take a deep breath, detach the turbo exhaust side and take it to a shop.
I don't suppose these things are rebuildable? No? Sux to be me!
