Same thing with the sequester. They cut the things that hurt the public to punish them for not making enough sacrifices to the diety of government.
I did see on the news this a.m. that the Capitol Hill police that shot the crazy lady while somehow missing her 1 Y.O. in the car are working without pay.

I love how the media and the Washington insiders act like this is the end of the world. It is only a problem in and around DC. The rest of us out here in "God's Country" are just fine. It's business as usual. We don't need the Feds and we're probably better off if they just keep it closed. Agree 100%. I wish they'd shut some of it down permanently. Start with the alphabet soup like EPA, OSHA, EEOC etc. Nothing but patronage jobs, arrogance and regulatory burden.

I disagree with those that say that it's too bad that they all just can't get along. I am so glad to finally see the Repubs stand their ground. They always cave (and probably will this time too in the end), but I'm still holding out hope. Liberalism has gone way too far and it had to come to this sooner or later. The repercussions of a showdown now are probably less damaging than what will happen in the future if we let this nonsense continue.

So now we aren't paying death benefits to families of fallen soldiers, until after the government reopens! If the government isn't opened by the first of the month, veterans on disability won't receive their checks. What a bunch of bull shit. If we can pay the members of congress who obviously aren't doing their job, why the hell can't we pay those who actually deserve their compensation. Congress hit a 5% approval rating today. That's down from a stellar 13% the week before the shutdown and 32% at the beginning of the year. I read somewhere that a poll was conducted that showed the public looked at dog shit more favorably than our current government leaders. I guess the status quo elections didn't work out so well for us. This is almost 2 years old but it's proof that we get what we deserve. We don't like them but we keep electing the same idiots. Why is it everyone feels our leaders are doing a terrible job yet we elect the same idiots over and over again? I get that the options aren't all that great but why stick with a known looser? live.drjays.com/index.php/2011/11/18/congress-is-less-popular-than-paris-hilton/

It's kinda like Social Security. They keep saying that SS is running out of money, but they never say that any form of welfare is running out of money. SS recipients paid in and are due a return as promised. They worked for it. All of the priorities are backwards.

S.S. has already run out of money. No matter how you run the math it's unfundable. While I understand the "I paid for it" I also understand that an entire nation of voters watched it being whizzed away and did nothing about it. I'm fairly certain that I'll never see a dime of my S.S. contributions. My big concern is the ba$tards will do what Poland did and confiscate my private retirement savings to feed the monster.

Talked to the boy today on skype. Pretty bad connection but glad to hear from him as the last I talked to him was on 911 and the base was under mortar attack. Says he's still getting paid but a lot of the contractors have closed down and the base is running short on food. Nice huh! Bet Moochelle is still getting plenty to eat. I sent him a couple cases of peanutbutter crackers and beef jerky last month so he says he's set.things get too bad he says they'll send out the rat patrol to kill a couple camels and goats just like Haji does. What a way to run a war.

I don't do Roth IRA's. Why? You figure it out...but it has to deal with trust.
