I'm always amazed at how they call their work "service" like they're volunteers. Public service usually means the same thing as when a bull "services" a cow.

They also say "we sacrifice because we care bout what we do...we could make more in private sector...blah blah blah". It's BS, they probably could NOT make more in private sector, if even get a job at all.

Now thats not fair Im sure there is somewhere a politician or public servent who does his or her job for the love of their country. I just don't see any of them being in America. Like when Dimagio or Gherig played baseball for the love of the game. Now leroy and juan play for the love of money,

If they're so into "serving" their country why don't they show up to work for a few days without pay to help America through this fiscal crisis?

I was actually watching the news tonight and the Wisconsin senators that are on PAID furloughs, vowed to donate all pay to non profit orgs. except for the resident lesbian (Tammy Baldwin) who vowed "Not to cash my paychecks until the crisis is over". Must be a bush leager. ws

They really should be fired. Both sides are wrong here. It's their job to work these things out and none of them have a clue or even give a shit about how to make some progress.

I love how the media and the Washington insiders act like this is the end of the world. It is only a problem in and around DC. The rest of us out here in "God's Country" are just fine. It's business as usual. We don't need the Feds and we're probably better off if they just keep it closed.

Spoke to a friend of mine tonight. His girlfriend is retiring from the FBI in a few weeks. The people who handle all the paper work for her to retire are still working. Guess it's not bad enough to send the people home that service the government workers. They'll cut where you see it most to make it seem worse than it is. Either way it's pretty sad that we can't figure this out.
