After the Kiwi treatment Engine testing on the Mighty Mississipi. Ya gotta love the fridge doors and latches. If You look under the v-berth you'll see My homemade marine air unit, I bought a $85 walmart 6500 btu ac wall unit and cut the compresser and condenser out of it, I then soldered some copper line extentions back to the motor compartments where I installed the compresser and condenser, I made a raw water heatexchanger and put the condenser in it, With a small 12v pump and regulator I had an ass kicking, cheap marine air unit with remote. Now You know how cheap I am ;D The wheel and railing had to be pulled whenever I moved it, about 13' 11" on the triaxle. I miss that boat. Kiwi

I still wanna see the Roamer breaking the water! Right now I am struggling with the FB ladder. I wished mine split in half with a hinge like the trojan! Was that a head knocker when folded up?? Yer pretty ambitous with that AC unit... I cut a hole through the engine room bulkhead and mounted a window unit under the companionway stairs exhausting to the ER. Works good but a surveyor didnt like it with "unprotected switches" etc...

Beautiful work. That pic of "engine testing" looks like it was it all worthwhile. Love the idea of the A/C retrofit, but you shouldn't have told Bill. He and spcoolin are now going to have a long discussion about it.

Back to the Roamer Project Here are a few pics of the Roamer from last week. We pulled the 427's out. We pickeled the motors right after the boat was pulled from the bottom, about 6 yrs ago. The starboard motor actually fired right up last week, with only 1 weak cylinder, @70psi. The port motor is another story, it has at least 2 rusty/bad cylinders. This ain't gonna be pretty inside. I will tear down both motors and repair as needed, over the next few weeks. Pretty much gutted. Some steam cleaning. The 8 year old paint job dose'nt look to bad, considering it was'nt underwater rated. Kiwi
