Reading that policy closely, they regard LEO siezure (with or without cause) and jamokes stealing the boat as an act of piracy. Im staying away from somalia and NOLA with the Roamer. ws

BigBill....ran across old post of yours on HOF about the aluminum plates in the transom for the swim platform...and your boat is a 1972. Anybody know what year they started with the aluminum plate? I doubt my 68 has them. jay, i bought a stud finder that did metal studs, that is how i found them

I’m new here so bear with me. Now I’m wondering what my policy states. If it’s the same here’s a scenario: I haven’t heard off any pirates on Lake Michigan or Green Bay but if there are and they attempt to board me and if I fired a flare in self defense by mistake at the fuel tank area of my boat, she catches fire and sinks before pirates are able to take her and assuming I survive would I be covered?

I grew up west of Chicago but married a Packer Backer. She's hot, go figure. Glad to be here. We are in Racine in the summer.

Where in Chicago? We hailed from the Darien/Lockport areas. Kept the boats in Cal City near 99th and YingYang. Truly the DARK CONTINENT now! Fly a BEARS flag in GB and you may instigate a march LOL...Where in GB are ya? ws

Glen Ellyn and Allouez. Wife grew up there. Not sure who let her on the south side of the cheddar curtain but I'm glad even though she's a Packer fan.

Cool! I worked at Com Ed from 1976 to 2005 in coal fired generation. My last port-o-call was a small gas turbine plant on Swift road 1/2 mile south of North Ave. Got out at 50 with a decent pension to boot! Now I play around on 150 ton tug boats as engineer. Plus old Buicks, Harleys, and of course the 2 boats. You should keep the boat up at GB. Its just a few hours up to the U.P and Gods country. Get yer wife on some smooth provolone LOL. Cheese curds are good too! YUMMM... ws Didja find your way into the BWT yet?? As they say here... PICS or it didnt happen! Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

We have talked a number of times about keeping the boat further north like Green Bay or Door County. I still work and have to get to Miami so that’s the hiccup. We saw a lot of those tugs on our trip up north no picture does them justice. You have to see those mass of muscle up close and personal. I spent my childhood summers on Lake Huron/Lake St. Clair watching all the Lakers go back-and-forth. Someday I’d like to take a trip on one of from Chicago to Port Huron or the reverse trip. I did find the black water tank and I believe I’m home. Thanks again for the support. I noticed the trailer that your Roamer is sitting on is from Seagull Marina. We got reacquainted with Kent and Dana two summers ago when they pulled into the slip next to us in Sister Bay. Later that year they visited us in Fort Lauderdale. What a fun couple to be around. Somewhere I have a picture of me around the age of five or six on the front of my grandfathers Roamer on lake Saint Clair with the icebergs in the background. I knew my grandfather was a hard-core boater but being in early enough to still have ice on the lake is impressive.

You werent too far from Algonac where they were built. What was gramps boat? Mine is a 1963 36 foot aluminum Riviera Hull#6 in aluminum. My dad bought it in Sturgeon Bay in 1972 (I was 17). He drowned in a tug sinking in 1980, and I took the boat to Shitcawgo in 1981 till 2010. I stay on the West Twin on the LDB just past the Washington Street bridge.
Kent (and brother Scott) are still at SeaGull. I just winter there. Dont ever recall meeting Dana. ws
